Hyderabad: The Kanara Catholic Welfare Association (KCWA), Hyderabad, came together on September 10, 2017, at St. Patrick’s High School, Secunderabad, to celebrate the Nativity feast. Approximately 180 Mangalorean Catholics residing in Hyderabad participated in the event.
The congregation gathered around the image of Maria Bambina, where the event commenced with the blessing of the image, the newly harvested rice grains, and the attendees. The celebrant for the occasion was Fr. Stany Lobo from Bhalki Parish, Gulbarga Diocese. The congregation sang beautiful Konkani hymns in praise of Mother Mary, with children leading the way as they showered flowers on her image. This was followed by a Konkani mass officiated by Fr. Lobo, with the choir and children contributing to the melodious hymns and musical accompaniment.

Following the mass, everyone was served the traditional ‘roce’ mixed with blessed grains. After a short refreshment break, the members of the association, along with their spouses, gathered for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) inside the hall.
