President’s Message

“The Kanara Catholic Welfare Association (KCWA) was formed in the year 1998 by a group of Mangaloreans residing in the twin cities. The Association was subsequently registered  and has been operating under the name KCWA. The KCWA is a non-profit organisation set up to promote educational, spiritual and cultural activities for the Mangalorean community in the twin cities. The Association provides a forum and a platform for the Kanara Catholics in the twin cities to meet, unite and interact with the purpose of celebrating and promoting our glorious Mangalore culture and traditions. 

With changing demographics and an ever shifting population, the association has over the years evolved into a vibrant group. The number of young members is on the rise, and as they take on responsibilities within the group, guided by senior members, the focus and aims of the initial founding fathers must not be lost. Konkani is our mother tongue, and every effort needs to be made to foster and promote our language and culture amongst those that desire to learn.

I am thankful and grateful to the entire association for imposing their trust in me and electing me to be your president. With the assistance of the Executive committee and the co-operation of all members, we can look forward to some good times together. May God continue to shower his wisdom and blessings on each of you as we move ahead for the good and welfare of all. God bless us all.”
