Jingle and Mingle 2025, KCWA’s Annual Christmas Celebration

KCWA celebrated Jingle and Mingle 2025 on 7 December 2025 with a packed morning of Christmas cheer, community bonding and plenty of stage moments. Members began gathering early and the programme started around 10 am.

Lovita and Rohit hosted the event and opened with a welcome note. They invited members to decorate the Christmas tree soon after. Children and adults joined in with real enthusiasm, turning the activity into a joyful start. Elvina Menezes led a short prayer. KCWA President Capt. Ashley Coelho then delivered the welcome address and spoke about the meaning of celebrating with the community and strengthening bonds within the association.

Rohit led the Christmas chat, where members shared personal memories and reflections on Christmas traditions and culture. The children enjoyed a high energy activity that kept the hall buzzing. Rikardo and team followed with a musical set of popular Christmas numbers. Children also performed dances with Santa Claus joining them, adding a playful, festive touch to the stage.

The association honoured senior members aged above 70 during a special felicitation. Treasurer Mr Norman Bennis and Vice President Mr Stany Mendonca recognised long serving members for their commitment and the role they have played in growing the KCWA family. The Christmas quiz brought another wave of laughter and friendly competition, led by Richard, Rohit and Lovita. Snacks and beverages remained available through the event, keeping the mood light and social.

Members later sang carols in Konkani and English. The session eased into impromptu karaoke with participation from both young and old. Mr Stany Mendonca prayed Grace before lunch. Members then shared a hearty meal, using the time to connect beyond the programme.

After lunch, the committee announced winners of the virtual carol singing competition held as a lead up to the event. They also awarded prizes for game winners and revealed the grand gift hamper winner through the raffle tickets sold during the celebration. Capt. Ashley Coelho and the executive committee delivered the vote of thanks and launched Committee Bells, a new song jointly produced by committee members with the use of AI. The event closed with a spirited baila dance that brought everyone together on the floor.

What should the committee build as a signature highlight for next year to make this tradition even stronger?
